The George Fam tries their hand at Gardening!

So with the ever increasing cost of fresh fruits and veggies, as well as Abbie's insatiable love of red peppers and cherry/grape tomatoes, we decided to try our hand at a little low-intensity gardening. Here are a couple not-so-great pictures of our plants about 4 weeks in...

(L to R) Some sort of little brown tomatoes, cherry tomato variety and fresh basil.

Yes, all of our tomato plants are in the shade because I didn't do my research before hand... We thought because our Hostas flourished there, that it must be a good place for a little mini garden. Turns out tomatoes love direct sunlight (strike one), should be planted earlier than end of June (strike 2) and need a little bit of support (kinda strike 3). That's why they say hindsight is 20/20.

(Bottom to Top) Our bell pepper plants, a super mild jalapeno plant, and sweet and mild banana peppers.

Basil grown in our own backyard. There are few things in life quite as satisfying as eating the fruits of your labor. This basil tasted *quite* delicious on our Grilled Margharita Pizza. Yummy!
